What is the Workstyles Training of Trainers?
The WorkStyles off-site pilot of Training of Trainers was made possible by a grant from the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement. This grant allowed us to select five pilot sites for the WorkStyles Training of Trainers. We also offer the Training of Trainers at the Spring Institute in Denver.
The emphasis on early employment for refugees was an impetus for the Spring Institute to develop a 60-hour pre-employability training program which we named WorkStyles. The training of trainers is focused on how this program is packaged and delivered in Denver, Colorado. At the end of this three-day program each participant receives the WorkStyles training curriculum and can deliver the training in their location. In the coming year this grant will also be working with pilot sites as they deliver WorkStyles to follow up on the training and other questions that arise in the program delivery.
Topics to be covered in the training include:
- Philosophy of the WorkStyles Approach
- Training Strategies
- Keys to Success
- Needs of Participants
- Accountability
- Checklists
- Pre- and Post-testing
- Sections of the WorkStyles Trainer's Manual and Ways to Adapt Materials for your work
