Other topics may include TOEFL prep, vocabulary building, discussion of contemporary issues, pronunciation, and many others. Phase 2: Business Practicum. Experiences include management workshops conducted by professional consultants, VIP company visits to both small entrepreneurial and large high-tech companies, a formal business presentation before an American audience, daily business lunches with Spring Institute staff and area business people. A final presentation in front of Spring Institute staff is mandatory. Each program is custom designed to meet the needs and expectations of our customers. Customized Short-Term Intensive English Training Customized Intensive Trainings are developed in consultation with the client to meet his/her needs. Content includes development of grammar, reading, writing, listening and speaking skill, specialized vocabulary, and specific topics as determined by a needs assessment. Language levels of participants are evaluated so that participants of similar ability and interest are placed together in a class. The customized approach does not use a "core curriculum"; however, the effectiveness of the instruction is based on the ability to customize the content and deliver a program meeting the specific needs of the participants. Classes vary from one week to one year in length and the number of class instruction also varies depending on the participants' needs. Computer assisted learning is available in the on-site computer lab. Individualized Tutoring This program includes customized English language instruction with lessons based on a bank of objectives and competencies for the language level and the expressed needs of the student.
