Diversity and Inclusiveness Training

Mutual respect must be fostered for a company to benefit from its diversity.  Cross-cultural information needs to be shared.  Appropriate management and team skills must be practiced, and skills like communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution have to be a high priority.

For the past 20 years, the Spring Institute has been helping organizations and employees raise cultural diversity awareness and develop skills that enable them to meet the challenges inherent in a culturally diverse workplace.

Depending on needs, time availability, and organizational preferences, a variety of training models can be utilized.  One of Spring Institute's most productive training models is a two-day intensive workshop which is often followed in a few months by another session.  Follow-on consultation is also available.

The goals of our diversity workshops include:

§         Awareness: Raising the level of consciousness of diversity issues.

§         Information: Sharing and discussing cultural generalizations that relate to various diversity topics.  Culture specific information can also be provided.  Individuals leave the training with an individualized action plan for continual self-improvement related to improving their own, and the organization's response to the opportunities of organizational diversity.

§         Skills development: Developing new skills for cross-cultural communication and interaction.

§         Organization specific: Making the information and skills specific to the organization and individual roles.

§         Future focus: Creating an individual action plan for continual self-improvement related to improving each individual's (and therefore the organization's) response to the opportunities that can result from organizational diversity.
