Training Philosophy
The Spring Institute uses a learner-centered, competency-based teaching methodology. Lessons begin with what the participants already know and activities are designed to maximize their participation in the learning process. Lessons focus on learning tasks which the individual can use on the job. Spring Institute workshops are designed on the premise that participants learn most effectively when they are an integral and interactive part of the training process; therefore, the methodology and activities are formulated so that much of the content on the topic areas comes from the participants themselves. Within the collective composition of most groups which already have significant experience with the subject matter, although the knowledge may not be at a conscious level, sharing of information and experience can be a powerful learning process. Programs and workshops are customized for our customers. A needs assessment is always conducted in advance, but there is an effort to maintain maximum flexibility so that the pacing and content can be modified; as needs arise during the session they can be taken into account. Spring Institute Training Programs are ACCET accredited.
